Z7341 U.S. Ordnance Corps Coat Button
Description: Very nice three-piece U.S. Ordnance Corps coat button. These were manufactured between 1834-1851. The face has crossed cannons with "US” on a lined field under a flaming bomb. This example is in excellent shape. The "US” on the crossed cannons is a little weak. It has a perfect stand-up shank and the backmark is legible. An excellent Civil War relic from Chancellorsville, Virginia
Headstamp: "*∼U.S∽* / ORDNANCE CORPS” dm with two inner rings, the innermost composed of circles.
Measures: 21.72mm
