Z7340 Marine Corps Cuff Button 1st Day Gettysburg
Description: Excellent excavated 1840’s -1850’s Marine Corps cuff size button. This two-piece example has plenty of gilt on the face and in the backmark. There is a very small, almost unnoticeable push to the very center of the face. It has 13 five-pointed stars across the top with an eagle and fouled anchor below. The stand-up shank is perfect. This example was recovered outside of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in the "Country Club Woods, Heth’s Division, July 1st area. An excellent Civil War relic with great provenance! This item will come with a COA.
Backmark: "*SCOVILLS & CO / () EXTRA ()” dm with a solid inner ring.
