Z7481 Federal 3” Parrott Artillery Shell (Chancellorsvile, Va.)
Description: Nice example of the standard Federal 3” Parrott artillery shell used in the American Civil War. This example has a zinc fuse and an iron body. This example was recovered in Chancellorsville, Virginia by the late author Dean Thomas. It has light to moderate pitting throughout and the lathe rings can still be seen along the sides. The zinc fuse has some corrosion which is normal and there is a small casting flaw on one side just above the sabot. A very nice example of a Civil War Federal Parrott shell!

Weight: 9 lbs. 10 Oz’s.
