Z7516 Winchester .50-70 Board Dummy Cartridge
Description: Nice example of the early flat head .50-70-450 Govt. board dummy cartridge. These were used in the Berdan & Allin converted muskets. This cartridge first appeared in the 1875 Winchester catalog with the headstamped version appearing in 1886. It has a flat nose lead bullet, a brass case, and a dented #1 oval brass primer. This example has two holes on the board side with a wooden spacer rod on the inside of the case. A nice example with some remaining lacquer and a spotted case.
