Z7561 French 1" Gatling Gun Cartridge
Description: Very nice 1” coiled French Gatling Gun cartridge. These cartridges were constructed using thin copper stock that was coiled for strength. This is very similar to the British Snider cartridge and the earlier Poultney’s Patent cartridges used in the United States. The head is made of drawn copper with a daisy primer pocket in the center of the head. It has a round nose bullet with two cannelures. This example has an evenly toned case with a paper patch squeezed between the case wall and the copper cup which has been trimmed along the top edge of the cup. There are several dents which are common due to the thin copper walls of the case. A very nice example!
