Description: Nicely sectioned example of a 13mm Gyrojet rocket with the experimental Bundy-tube case with a single cannelure. Bundy-Tubes were manufactured by the Bundy Tubing Company of Michigan and were used in the automotive industry. They were perfect for Gyrojet tubes because the copper-plated steel sheets could be rolled and soldered.
You can see the riveted aluminum nose, steel nozzle, and aluminum foil sealant. The inside of the cartridge shows the propellant grain as well as the treated paper igniting strip. A nicely sectioned example of a 13MM Gyrojet "Bundy-Tube” cartridge sectioned by the talented Paul Smith.
