Z7702 .58 Rimfire Cartridge, .58 CAL. Headstamp I.E.P.#120
Description: Nice .58 Rimfire cartridge with the hard-to-find ".58 CAL” headstamp. These were manufactured at the Springfield Armory in 1865. The official designation is .58-60-500. It has a .58 bullet weighing 500 grains with a 60-grain powder charge.

The .58 rimfire cartridges were used in the Allin Conversion Model 1865 Rifle, the Miller Model 1861 .58 Conversion Rifle, and possibly a few other conversions. This example has a pointed flat tip bullet with a copper case. A very nice example with a few small spots and dings.
