Z7788 20 Ga. Forager Shotshell for M1881 Shotgun
Description: Nice example of a 20 Ga. Model 1881 Trapdoor Forager shotgun cartridge. These shotshells were issued to troops out West to supplement their rations with small game. This example was reloaded at some point. It has a small brass Winchester primer and a fiber wad in the case mouth holding the contents in place. This example still has quite a bit of the tin plating with some tarnish/oxidation around the case mouth. The shell itself was manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal in November of 1897.
