Z7822 .44 Merwin & Hulbert Board Dummy Cartridge
Description: Decent .44 Merwin & Hulbert "board dummy” cartridge. These were used in the Merwin & Hulbert Army model revolvers. These cartridges were first manufactured around 1877 and discontinued by 1916-1918. This example has an oxidized flat nose bullet. It has a brass case with spotting and two holes on the board side. There is a single stab crimp holding the bullet in place. The head is flat with a copper primer. This example doesn’t have a wood rod insert and the base is not beveled like your traditional later M&H cartridges. This would either be an early product of Winchester or U.M.C.
