Z7806 Aqua Indian War Sauce Bottle? (Fort Buford)
Description: This is one of several items recovered from the Fort Buford privies. Fort Buford is located at the confluence of the Missouri & Yellowstone rivers in what is North Dakota today. The fort was established in 1866 and decommissioned in 1895. Sitting Bull surrendered here in 1881.
Nice, excavated aqua colored bottle with what appears to be an altered lip or spout. This example doesn’t have any embossing. There are three raised bands around the shoulder with a few small chips around the neck. This is in as dug condition with a little haze and sickness.
