Z7847 Army Corps of Engineers "Essayons” Coat Button
Description: Very nice Army Corps of Engineers coat size button. Albert lists this as a two-piece button with an applied face but it appears to be a three-piece button. The lined field behind the applied face would be a separate piece. It features an eagle above a ribbon with "ESSAYONS” over a bastion surrounded by water with a rising sun to the right. The stand-up shank is perfect and the backmark is legible. A nicely gilted button with a little tarnish on the back. This one was probably removed from a uniform.
