Z7866 Rare Early .56-56 Spencer Rifle Cartridge Box (Black Label)
Description: Here is an extremely rare and early box for No. 56 Spencer cartridges used in the Spencer Navy and Army rifles. The box and contents were manufactured by Crittenden & Tibbals with a Spencer Armory label applied to the top. This box is empty but will accommodate 24 rounds of No. 56 rimfire ammunition. It is thought that they may have been packed in sawdust which was a common practice at that time. This box is exceedingly rare and may be the only one in existence. It’s the exact example published in the three major reference works listed below.
