Z7895 1” Gatling Gun "Board Dummy” Cartridge by U.M.C.
Description: Rare 1” Gatling Gun "Board Dummy” cartridge manufactured by the Union Metallic Cartridge Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. This example has a belted round nose lead bullet, a brass case, and a large copper primer. The brass case is dent free and still retains quite a bit of the original lacquer finish. The bullet is lightly oxidized and has several small dents. It appears that the bullet has been lightly carved around the case mouth. This example has two holes on the board side with no wood rod spacer. The "board dummy” examples are from the late 1800’s cartridge boards and are very hard to find!
