Description: Nice example of a full and sealed packet of .45 ammunition manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal in 1878. This ammunition was used in both the Model 1873 Colt and the Model 1875 Smith & Wesson Schofield. These are internally Benet-primed cartridges and were manufactured between 1875 and 1881. This packet contains 12 cartridges housed in a pasteboard box and wrapped in a paper cover. The outside of the box was then lacquered to waterproof the box.
This example is clean and still has the original pull string. There are a few small cracks at the seam on the top back edge and the top right side. All other seams are minty.
Measures: 3.25” x 1.25” x 1.5”
