Z8315 Regulation 1839 Pattern US Cartridge Box Plate (W.H. Smith)
Description: Decent example of an early war US cartridge box plate with thick letters. This example is maker marked "W.H.SMITH / BROOKLYN” on the reverse. The plate is flat with a push to the edge on the lower right of the face. The back retains nearly all of the lead solder, and the iron attachment loops have rusted away. There is an old price of $5.00 written on the back of the plate in red ink.
