Z8345 Published Confederate Boyle, Gamble and McFee Bayonet Adapter (No. 52)
Description: Nice, excavated and published Confederate bayonet adapter manufactured by the firm of Boyle, Gamble and McFee of Richmond, Virginia. This example is marked, "BG&M / RICHMOND, VA / PAT SEP 2. 1861” with the strongest side of the stamp on the right side. The double foot is clearly marked "52” which is quite clear. The iron screw has rusted away which is common on these. This piece was part of the Richard "Dick’ Hammond collection and is published in Howard Crouch’s book on Civil War artifacts. A great piece of Confederate history that is published and marked by the manufacturer.
