Z8338 Rare Excavated .69 Hazard Cartridge (Published/Gettysburg)
Description: Rare example of an excavated .69 cartridge manufactured by the Hazard Powder Company. This is the exact cartridge published in Round Ball to Rimfire Vol. 1 and is one of two recovered at the 11th or 12th Pennsylvania Reserves position at Gettysburg. It was sold in Dean’s Auction back in 2014.
This is a very rare cartridge and to find one in good, excavated shape is almost impossible. This example has "42” written on the back of the bullet which corresponds to Dean’s catalog. The case is intact with a push to the back along with a few small holes in the casing. You would be hard pressed to find an example, let alone a published example in good shape!
