Z8444 .52-70 Sharps Cartridge by Winchester

Description: Decent example of what is known as the .52-70 or .54 Sharps cartridge by Winchester. Not a lot is known about this cartridge. It was originally named the .54 Sharps centerfire cartridge. Some believe it to be Winchester’s variation of the .52-70 Sharps which was used in converted Sharps carbines. It has a flat nose bullet, a brass case with a thick head, and a small brass primer.

This example is in decent condition. The case has oxidation spots with most of them concentrated around the middle of the case. Every single one of these cartridges I have seen has these spots to some degree. The bullet is clean, and the brass case has a few very small, nominal dents.
