Description: Very rare booklet consisting of 26 pages pertaining to the services at the dedication of the National Sailor's Home in Quincy, Massachusetts on August 1, 1866. This booklet was owned by a Sarah E. Hooper and was published by J.H. Eastburn's Press in Boston, Massachusetts in 1866. The National Sailor's Home was erected in 1866 for the purpose of providing a home for Sailors, Marines, and others employed in the Naval Service of the United States. It housed those disabled by sickness and old age. The booklet is in good shape for its age. There is some wear to the spine and corners and the name of Sarah E. Hooper is written in ink on page three.
