Description: Very nice 1.5” "Punt Gun” cartridge that is a new primed empty or N.P.E. This example has a tannish gray tub with a copper cup. The battery cup is brass and the primer is copper. These were used in large bore fowling guns up through the 1950’s and 1960’s in some areas. They were designed to take out large amounts of waterfowl in a single shot. Unfortunately, this lead to the decrease in population which is why it’s now illegal to hunt with a punt gun. This example is in excellent condition with little to no soiling. I’ve included a photo of the punt gun cartridge next to a 10 Gauge cartridge so you can get an idea of how large this one is! The 10 Ga. shell is not included.
