Description: Very nice M1906 revolver ball cartridge manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal in April of 1906. These were manufactured for use in the 1906-1907 Board tests. This is the rimmed version with a headstamp. Our item Z5906 is the same type without a headstamp. Suydam states, "The adoption of the .45 Colt M1909 revolver, and, later, the M1911 auto pistol, cancelled interest in this cartridge.” This example has a round nose cupronickel-jacketed bullet. A short-lived U.S. .45 cartridge!
