Z5495 Quarter-Plate Tintype of an Early War Infantryman

Description: Decent three-quarter standing view of an unidentified early war private. This soldier is armed with a P1853 Enfield and the bayonet is in the fixed position. You can clearly see the accoutrements. He appears to have both a cartridge box and a cap pouch held up by a waistbelt and shoulder strap. His cheeks are slightly tinted. This image does have some solarization around the outside border, but the image remains clear. There is a small dull spot in the emulsion between the rifle and his left leg. An American flag is draped over the table to his left and the backdrop features cannons and tents. I have seen this backdrop attributed to Fort Monroe or Suffolk, Virginia. This tintype is housed in a full leatherette case.
