Z5598 Civil War St. Louis Arsenal Cartridges (1864)
Description: Very nice original Civil War ammunition packet manufactured at the St. Louis Arsenal in 1864. This packet contains 10 original .58 paper cartridges and a single packet of percussion caps. This example does have some light soiling/staining but is wrapped tightly with the original and correct string. The label reds, "RIFLE MUSKET & RIFLE, 58. / 65 GRAINS M. POWDER / ST. LOUIS ARSENAL. / 1864.” This would make an excellent addition to any Civil War small arms or cartridge collection. Arsenal marked packets are getting harder to find!
