Z5706 .45 Whitworth Cartridge (British Regulation)
Description: Decent example of a British Regulation .45 Whitworth cartridge. This specific type was manufactured at the Woolwich Laboratory in England. It consists of two pasteboard tubes glued together and wrapped in paper. The wider section contains the projectile, and the smaller tube held the powder charge. There is a green band with a pull tab. The larger end is sealed with a knot on the end and the powder tube is sealed with a twisted paper end which is missing on this example. This example remains intact with soiling on both tubes. The green band and pull tab are still attached as well. The powder end is open, and the majority of the powder has been emptied.
