Description: Decent excavated example with a perfect shank and plenty of gilt. This button was used by the 58th "Rutlandshire” Regiment. It’s a two-piece convex button with a "58” in the center of the face. The outside reads, "GIBRALTAR EGYPT MAIDA” between two solid rings of rope.
Backmark: Illegible
Measures: 16.69 mm
Recovered: Unknown
Reference: "Buttons of the Regular Army 1855-2000” Ripley No. 182 (1855-1881)
