Z6835 MBA 12MM Gyrojet Rocket with Powder Metal Nozzle
Description: Nice example of a 12mm Gyrojet rocket with the patented "powder metal” four-port nozzle. The patent for the powder metal nozzle was awarded to MBA on December 31, 1968, as Patent No. 3,419,230. Its creation stemmed from the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos. The main benefit of the powder metal nozzle was forward thrust.
Nice example with four straight ports. This example has copper-plated steel case. The nose is pointed and there is a visible shoulder on the rocket. This may be one of the 13mm cases that were resized to 12mm following the 1968 Gun control act.
