Z6995 .56-50 Spencer Carbine Shot Cartridge (U)
Description: Nice example of the .56-50 Spencer carbine shot cartridge manufactured by The Union Metallic Cartridge Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The shot is contained within a wooden sabot. The copper cartridge case is tapered from the head to the case mouth. These were sold commercially in boxes of 25 with an over label on the lid designating shot cartridges. This is a nice example with one small crack in the wooden sabot at the case mouth. The wood tends to dry out over time.
