Scarce .50 Rimfire Cartridge (Ball Carbine / US Naval Academy)
Description: Nice example of the smaller .50 rimfire cartridge. This cartridge has had a few names over the years and I’m not sure if a positive identification has been made. I’ve seen these called a .50 "Ball Carbine” cartridge and a .50 "Naval Academy” cartridge. This example has a round nose bullet with a copper case. The two tic marks on the base may indicate this was manufactured by Charles D. Leet. This example has a discolored band around the bottom portion of the case along with a few spots. A hard to find .50 rimfire cartridge!
Headstamp: Blank with two tic marks.
