.46 Remington Carbine Rimfire Cartridge by U.M.C.
Description: Very nice, No. 46 rimfire cartridge used in the Remington Type-1 split-breech carbine manufactured in 1865-1866. This example has an impressed "U” headstamp and was manufactured by the Union Metallic Cartridge Company. It has a pointed lead bullet with two grease grooves or cannelures along with a drawn copper case. A nice example with a spotted case. This example appears to be right out of the box!
