Z7725 Eley’s Waterproof Central Fire No. 14 Percussion Caps
Description: Nice, japanned tin of No. 9 waterproof central fire primers manufactured by Eley of London. This example still has the green and black label on the top and the No. 14 label on the bottom. The top label has a few spots that are worn due to the raised letters "ELEY / LONDON” on the lid. These tins are very hard to date because they were used for a such a long time. However, I would guess that this tin predates 1874 due to the lack of Ltd. or Ld. on the label. There is a trademark dated 1886 by Eley that has a similar label. These were used with large frame Colt percussion revolvers. A nice example that is full!
Measures: 1.5” x .75”
Reference: "Eley Cartridges” Harding
