Description: Nice, original shotshell box "Dead Shot” powder advertising insert. This example was manufactured by the American Powder Mills of Boston, Massachusetts. These inserts were included in the early two-piece shotshell boxes. This piece is in very nice shape with three small bites out of paper in the upper right corner. The colors are fantastic with a few small, nominal light creases but no folds. The front features a lithograph of a falling Mallard duck with two hunters in a boat. The back has "DEAD SHOT” at an angle across the back and you can see the outline of where shotshells rested up against the paper. I have included both photos and scans so you can get an idea of the color on the face. A very nice collectible example of gun powder advertising!
