Description: Decent Chinese 1” Gatling gun cartridge. This example was once part of the White & Munhall Collection and has the engraved catalog number on the side of the case. It was most recently part of the Woodin Laboratory collection. This example has a round nose bullet with a drawn brass case and Berdan primer. It appears to be empty. The bullet has been pulled and recrimped into place below the original crimp line. The bullet spins freely but will not come out.
This example was manufactured in the Jing Lin Manufacturing Bureau in Nanjing/Jiangsu somewhere between 1865-1912. The brass case has numerous small dents. There is one small split in the case at the case mouth. A great example with exceptional provenance!
Headstamp: Reverse marked depressed channel with raised Chinese characters.
