Z1794 Container of Percussion Caps Recovered from the Confederate Blockade Runner "Minho"
Description: Plastic container filled with percussion caps recovered from the blockade runner "Minho". The "Minho" was a blockade runner that was sunk off of Fort Moultrie on the morning of October 20, 1862. This ship was loaded with Enfield rifles and accoutrements produced in England and destined for the Confederacy. Due to the ship being grounded near Sullivan's Isle, these caps never made it to the front lines.
Recovered: Fort Moultrie / Sullivan's Island
