Z8063 Confederate Postal Cover, Col. Magruder, Gordonsville, Virginia
Description: Decent Confederate postal cover with what appears to be a cancelled CSA 11 stamp on the upper left-hand corner. This example is addressed to a Mrs. Virginia Warren, Care of Col. Magruder, Gordonsville, Va. There are two cancels on the face, and one may be Harrisonburg Va. The envelope has some soiling with a few areas of foxing. One side is open and there are several wrinkles, etc. Further research is needed. I did find mention of a Col. Magruder’s plantation in Orange County Virginia outside of Gordonsville.
