Z6877 WWII German M42 Army Helmet ET64 (Single Decal)
Description: Decent WWII German M42 helmet with a single Heer army decal. This appears to be a barn or shed find and came out of Berkeley County West Virginia. The outside still retains some original green paint and the decal with mild pitting. The inside of the helmet has rust with a heavier pitting near the back. More than likely, water pooled up in this area while in storage. The plated steel liner band is rusted. Very little of the leather liner and chin strap are left. A stamping of "ET64” can be found under the left ear. The "4” in "64” is flipped. The lot number "1617” is found stamped into the interior flare on the back of the helmet. The front left helmet liner pin is missing. I would recommend treating the inside section below the liner with oxalic acid. A decent original single decal Heer helmet that won’t break the bank!
Measures: 11.5” x 9.5” x 6”
