Z6567 Japanese Type 30 "Tokyo Hourglass” Bayonet Hikari Seiki
Description: Very nice example manufactured by a subcontract plant of the Kokura (Tokyo) Arsenal known as Hikari Seiki Seisakusho Arsenal. This example has an overall length of 20 7/8” with the scabbard on. The bayonet itself measures 20 1/8” with an unfullered 15 11/16” rough and blued blade. This would be considered a late war production bayonet. It features a flat bird’s head pommel, straight crossguard, straight wooden grips with two rivets, and a tubular metal scabbard measuring 16 3/8” in length. . This example is marked as the 94th Series "90952” but falls a tad short of the serialization listed in Labar on pg. 130 (91091-92884). A nice example with very little wear. The scabbard is undented and clean with a dark and light patina. The blade has excellent grinding marks and is blued with a false edge. The wooden grips have a dark patina with a few bumps and metal on the handle and guard are very nice with minimal rust with wear to the finish on the edges. A nice late war example!
